Raglan Hospital

Too much hot water forced some plumbing change

The Raglan hospital used an old centralized diesel boiler. This small hospital requires 800 litres of hot water per day for its residents.

During early 2009, eight Edwards Titan collectors were installed with two large GreenGlo 500D tanks. The amount of hot water that were produced by the solar system was overwhelming.
The solar installation team was called back to site to seek a solution. The decision was made to connect the kitchen to increase the hot water consumption and to further increase the energy savings of the hospital.
