Retirement village invests in solar water heating – North Island
Prior to the installation of the solar system, the majority of the water heating of the village was made by a large diesel boiler.
The solar system has two parts:
The main system: introducing a 2,000 litre pre-heating system, consisting of two GreenGlo 1000D tanks connected to 14 Edwards Titanium collectors that can generate more than 12,000kWh of energy per year.
The kitchen system: introducing a 500 litre auto-boosted system, consisting of one GreenGlo 500D with three Edwards Titanium collectors
The main system is monitored with Sola-data device that is connected to the lodge computer.
